Review of Submissions
- Submission. The author submits the manuscript via the OJS submission form (recommended) or to admin@arteducation.pro. The manuscript must comply with the editorial policy and the submission requirements. The submission is registered in OJS with its date of receipt, and the author receives an automatic acknowledgement.
- Initial screening (up to 7 days). The editor checks the fit with the journal’s scope, scholarly quality and completeness. Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements are rejected or returned for correction with an explanation.
- Similarity check. All manuscripts are checked with StrikePlagiarism. The results are assessed by the editor as described in Countering Plagiarism.
- Assignment of reviewers. The manuscript is sent to at least two independent reviewers — editorial board members or external experts in the field. Within 3–5 days the reviewer confirms whether he or she can review the manuscript; in case of a conflict of interest the reviewer declines and the editors appoint another reviewer.
- Peer review (14 days, no more than one month). Review is double-blind; the reviewer completes the standard review form with a recommendation.
- Decision. Based on the reviews, the editors make one of the following decisions: “accept”, “minor revisions”, “revise and resubmit for review” or “reject”. The decision and anonymised reviews are sent to the author via OJS.
- Revision (up to 30 days). The author addresses the comments or rebuts them with arguments and attaches a response letter listing the changes. The revised manuscript is, as a rule, sent back to the reviewer. The editors may reject the manuscript if the author does not address substantial comments.
- Acceptance. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or, on his behalf, by a member of the editorial board. The date of acceptance is the date of the decision to accept.
- Production. Copyediting, layout in the journal’s single template, proof approval by the author, DOI assignment.
- Publication. The article is published on the website under the Online First policy and is later included in a regular issue.
Authors may appeal editorial decisions as described in the Complaints Review Procedure.
