Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 14-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

I. Procedure for submitting an article to the "Professional Art Education"

1.1. Materials for publication are scientific articles for the purpose of publishing the results of their own scientific researches, reporting of significant results of theoretical, methodical and practical character in the field of art education.

1.2. The article is submitted by the author to the responsible secretary (administrator, assistant editor-in-chief, editor) of the Journale directly by email at admin@arteducation.pro 

1.3. The author can independently submit a scientific article for review in the "Professional Art Education", by logging into the official website www.arteducation.pro and by referring to the bookmark for submitting a new article *.

1.4. In the case of a positive decision to accept and publish the article, as well as in accordance with the privacy statement, additional information about the author (s) should be provided, namely:

II. Requirements for the content of materials

2.1. According to the scientific content of the articles must meet the requirements approved by the Resolution of the Presidium of the HAC of Ukraine "On increasing the requirements for professional publications included in the lists of the HAC of Ukraine".

2.2. An indication is required and highlighted bold pins of such structural elements as:

Formulation of the problem and its relation to important scientific or practical tasks (it is necessary to disclose the essence and state of the scientific problem in general form, its theoretical and / or practical significance, connection with important scientific or practical tasks; substantiate the relevance of the research and its importance for the further development of the relevant arts and arts education).

Analysis of basic research and publications that begin to address the problem outlined, identify previously unresolved parts of the general problem to which the article is devoted (briefly, critically and in some logical sequence need to analyze the main provisions of recent research and publications that directly address the problem raised the previously unresolved parts of the general article issue).

Formulation of aims and objectives of the article (it is necessary to express the main idea of the publication, which should be substantially different from current ideas about the problem, supplement or deepen the already known approaches; , but insufficiently studied; the purpose of the research should be based on the formulation of the problem and the analysis of recent research and publications, and it should clearly identify the final scientific result, what scientific prerequisites are based on what and how it is achieved (involving, in particular, scientific hypotheses, ideas, phenomena, laws);

Presentation of the basic material and its results (it is necessary to clarify: basic provisions and results of scientific research, personal ideas, thoughts, scientific facts obtained, regularities, connections, tendencies, methodology of obtaining and analysis of factual material, personal contribution of the author in reaching and realization of conclusions);

Conclusions (the most important results of the research, which contain scientific novelty and have theoretical and / or practical significance; should have the form of synthesis of the scientific information accumulated in the main part of the article, ie a consistent, clear, logical presentation of the author's personal results in accordance with the goal of the most important results studies that contain scientific novelty and are of theoretical and / or practical relevance).

III. Requirements for text of the articlebig

3.1. Articles to the journal "Professional Art Education" can be submitted in Ukrainian and English.

3.2. Articles are accepted only as files (text in .doc, .docx, .rtf format; illustrations in .tif, .jpg, .pcx or any other graphic format with the agreement of the editor).

3.3. All non-text objects are created by Microsoft Word (objects must be grouped).

3.4. The graphics and drawings must be editable.

3.4.1. Illustrations are allowed in the text of the article, but can be submitted as separate files in TIFF, JPG, PCX (at least 300 dpi resolution) or on separate sheets.

3.5. Words are typed without hyphenation.

3.6. Formulas - using Equation Editor.

3.7. The text should be typed in Times New Roman, the text is 1.5 spaced and printed on 210 x 297.5 mm (A 4) paper, not more than 30 lines on the page, uses a 14- point font.

3.8. The margins around the text are 2 cm on all sides. If the article contains graphic material, it should be submitted in A5 format, and leave space for drawings in the original. Electronic variants should be completely fixed without "badges" and "objects".

3.9. The text of the scientific paper should be submitted in the following order.

3.9.1. UDC is a universal decimal classification code (on the right edge). You can determine the UDC in Ukrainian on the UDC website.

3.9.2. Title of the article (in bold capital letters with center alignment, without abbreviations, including letter abbreviations). The title of the article should reflect the content of the study and be consistent with its purpose, scientific results and conclusions.

3.9.3. The surname and first name of the author (s) * of the article should be centered.

* No more than two co-authors are allowed for one scientific article

3.9.4. Abstract in Ukrainian (1100-1400 thousand characters) together with keywords (4-8 words)

Font - Times New Roman

Font size - 12 ppm;

The text is single-spaced.

3.9.5. The text of the article should meet the content requirements, namely, contain such structural components as:

  • Formulation of the problem and its relation to important scientific or practical tasks.
  • Analysis of basic research and publications.
  • Formulating the aims and objectives of the article.
  • Presenting main material.
  • Conclusions.
  • Prospects for further research.

3.9.7. Literature and References are made according to the requirements for the list of sources used.

3.9.8. The paragraph indent in English indicates the author's name (s), the title of the article (in bold capital letters), centered alignment, and an expanded annotation (2200-2800 characters), which should include the following structural parts:

Object. (purpose and objectives of the study).

Methods. (methods are indicated only if they are novelty and of interest, given the subject matter of the article).

Results. (main results of the study).

Conclusions. (conclusions).

Keywords: 4-7 keywords (it is advisable not to repeat the name of the manuscript).

3.9.9. A set of keywords should be relevant to the main content of the article, reflect the subject of the study and provide a thematic search. Keywords must be entered in the nominative case after a semicolon.

The abstract in English, along with the keywords, should be printed in Times New Roman (14-piont font), the text is single-spaced. 

IV. Additional requirements

4.1. A separate file is submitted to the author's agreement indicating the author's information: full name, first name, patronymic, scientific degree, academic title (specialty), position, place of work (study), settlement; country, Orcid ID, or Researcher ID, email address.

4.2. The file name of the article is in the Latin letters of the author's name (for example: ivanov.doc). The name of the author information file is in Latin letters using the following pattern: ivanov_avtor.doc.

V. Requirements for a list of sources

5.1. The text of the manuscript itself must adhere to the general rules of citation and references to sources used in accordance with the international standard for the listing of APA Style.

5.2. References (sources) should be in the original language, without numbering.

5.3. All links should be alphabetically named after each author in each section. Non-author references must be alphabetically named.

5.4. References. Names of Cyrillic sources, surnames and names of their authors (compilers, responsible and (or) scientific editors), proper names of journals, names of conferences (seminars, symposia, conferences, round tables, etc.) and publishers should be translated in Latin letters.

Next, in square brackets, it is necessary to place the translation in English of the name: monograph or other publication, scientific article, abstract of the scientific report (message), as well as the name: conferences, seminars, symposiums, round tables, etc.

After each link, the source language, such as (in Ukrainian) or (in English), must be shown in parentheses.

5.5. Transliteration * must be performed depending on the language of the original source: use the official transliteration approved for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on January 27, 2010 # 55 for the Ukrainian language; for the Russian language to apply transliteration in accordance with the requirements of the Order of the FMS of Russia No. 26, dated February 3, 2010.

* Online transliteration services: for sources in Ukrainian - “Standard Ukrainian transliteration” in passport standard mode; for sources in Russian - TRANSLIT.CC.

5.6. Foreign sources remain unchanged. They should be placed before the translated Cyrillic.

5.7. In the case of DOI, it is advisable to indicate the following in the article (author):

VI. Volume requirements

6.1. The total volume of the manuscript is 0.5-0.8 prints. ed. Ark. (10-16 pages of typewritten text)*.

* If the article exceeds certain requirements, then permission from the editorial board should be obtained.

6.2. An abbreviated abstract close to 1100-1400 characters is added to the article in Ukrainian) and expanded in English (2200-2800 characters).

6.3. An extended annotation in Ukrainian language (not less than 1800 characters, including keywords) is added to the article in English according to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 32, dated January 16, 2018 (item 6, subparagraph 4).

6.3.1. The extended abstract in English must be certified by the seal of the translation bureau or agreed with the signature of the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages or of the Department of International Relations of Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after G.S. Skovoroda.

6.3.2. The editorial board of the Journal may review and accept the extended abstract in English from similar divisions of other educational institutions, institutions and organizations whose signatures are duly authenticated.

6.3.3. The editorial board of the Journal can independently analyze and validate the abstract in English by leading specialists, subject to agreement with the author of the manuscript. If necessary, you can translate the annotation in English from the original text.

6.4. Articles submitted in English by non-English authors (translated) must be certified for translation at the Translation Bureau or the Department of Foreign Languages or the International Relations Department of the institution, as described above.

6.5The following are added to the manuscript:

- review of the candidate / doctor of science in the relevant specialty, certified by the seal of the institution of the reviewer (for authors who have scientific degrees or academic titles, the presence of a review is not required);

- annotations in Ukrainian and English;

information about the author, including surname, first name, patronymic, position, place of work, academic degree and academic title, contact phones, e-mail; Orcid (Researcher ID), home address or New Mail (to submit a printed version of the collection);

- payment receipt for the publication (after reviewing the article by the editorial board and subject to a positive decision on printing).

6.6. Materials that do not meet these requirements are not accepted. Articles that have already been published or submitted for publication in other publications are not accepted.

6.7. Submissions are sent by mail with cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, Assistant Editor-in-Chief, Secretary in charge. An electronic version of the article can be emailed to: admin@arteducation.pro. Manuscripts and electronic media are not returned.

VII. The stages of review and policy drafting committee

7.1. Reviewing materials and publishing the current issue of the Journal "Professional Art Education" through independent double-blind review of submitted manuscripts.

7.2. Each article goes through three stages of control:

- primary control of compliance with the general requirements of the articles;

- plagiarism check and citation quality;

- external scientific review in accordance with the Regulation on the Editorial and Publishing Board.

7.3. The decision to publish the article is notified to the author. The article is returned for revision in case of violation of design requirements.

7.4. The editorial firmly condemns plagiarism in articles as a violation of copyright and scientific ethics. If more than 20% of the borrowed text is found in the article without proper references and using quotation marks, the article qualifies as containing plagiarism. In this case, the article is no longer considered, and the author receives a warning (in the presence of a scientific advisor, the author is also informed).

7.5. After an external "blind" review, the editorial board makes the final decision on the possibility of publishing the article. In the case of a positive decision to publish the article, the author receives a corresponding notification by e-mail and a payment invoice, which is paid in cash at any branch of the bank.

7.6. Articles are published in order of the general turn, based on the date the article was received. The articles will only be included in the queue after the editorial board has received the payment confirmation for the publication. Articles are distributed in the nearest issues where there are available spaces.

7.7. Each issue of the Journal is signed for publication on the basis of a decision of the Academic Council of Kharkov National Pedagogical University named after G. S. Skovoroda. The collection with the printed article is sent to the authors (by appointment) by mail or published.

Privacy Statement

The confidentiality of the authors is important, which is why all manuscripts are considered by the editorial board of the "Professional Art Education" journal as confidential documents. Other information provided (surname, first name, e-mail address, place of work and position, phone number) will be used solely for the purpose of the internal technical tasks of this journal to enable the possibility of citation and increase the citation index of the author and the journal itself, subject to positive decision on publication of the article and author’s official consent.

Privacy Policy

1. The user can visit the web site of the collection of scientific works "Professional Art Education"without registering or providing personal information. When you visit a website, it collects impersonal user information, which is only displayed of visits by country.

2. The website sign-up form requires that users provide us with personal information, such as name, surname, e-mail address, place of work and position, phone number, etc. The user’s personal information is used to contact with him if it is necessary. This personal information also allows users to keep up-to-date with sections of the "Professional Art Education"journal. The information is kept as confidential as possible. The Editorial Board does not sell registered users’ e-mail addresses, nor does it share information with advertisers or other websites.

3. Compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) is ensured by the OJS content management system features in the user's e-mail account, as well as editorial board feedback.

4. Manuscripts of articles are reviewed with due respect for the authors’ /author’s confidentiality. By submitting their manuscripts for review, the author / authors entrust the editorial board with the results of their academic work and creative efforts, on which their reputation and career may depend. 

5. Reviewers are also entitled to the confidentiality maintained by the Editor-in-Chief. Privacy cannot be violated other than in case of fraud or academic misconduct detected. In other cases, it must be respected.

6. The editorial board does not disclose information about manuscripts (including their receipt, content, status in the review process, criticism of reviewers, or final data) to anyone other than the author / authors and reviewers. This includes requests for the use of legitimate material.

7. The editorial board clearly explains to its reviewers that the submitted manuscripts are author/authors property. Therefore, reviewers and members of the editorial board respect the rights of the author / authors and should not discuss their work publicly or steal their ideas. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of manuscripts for their own benefits and are not allowed to share them with others. Transfer to other persons cannot be made other than with Editor-in-Chief’s prior agreement with the author. Reviewers must return or delete copies of manuscripts after submitting reviews. The editorial board does not keep copies of the rejected manuscripts.

8. Reviewers' comments cannot be published without the author’s and Editor-in-Chief’s permission.

9. Reviews are not published together with manuscripts. However, reviewers' comments can be sent to others reviewing the same manuscript, which helps reviewers understand the review process.

Changes to Privacy Policy

The editorial board of the "Professional Art Education" collection of scientific works reserves the right to amend this privacy policy. Any amendments made to this privacy policy will be posted on this page and, if necessary, of the manuscripts by emailed to users/authors.
